Holiday Shopping Away from the Big Box
Holiday shopping is a sport in itself and the fewer stops I have to make, the better. I definitely try my best to maximize how many gifts I can buy from a single retailer, that way I can receive everything and wrap it up as soon as possible. It leaves enough time for relaxation and allows me to enjoy the holidays a little more. Even though big box stores have the ease of convenience, I tend to get tired of looking at all the same products over and over again and seeing nothing fresh to excite me. I wanted to share with you all a few retailers I love shopping with and can make your holiday shopping a bit more exciting.
Beauty
Sachi Skin* is one of my favorite slow-beauty brands. The founder, Farah, beautifully married traditional ayurvedic skincare remedies and science to create Sachi Skin. Each product release is well-thought out, intentional, and driven by results. Products go through rigorous clinical testing in order to provide realistic expectations for us, the consumers. If you need a place to start, I recommend the You Set The Tone Duo ($141), which comes with the Triphala Pigment Corrector and Complexion Clarifying Accelerator. It’s the ultimate duo to help aid against aging, pigmentation, and potential breakouts.
Stratia Skin* is another fabulous brand driven by results. I remember shopping Stratia Skin back in college when I was a budding skincare enthusiastic and it was a budding skincare company, stocked solely with the Lipid Gold moisturizer. Since then, it’s evolved into a company with 9 amazing products that can replace nearly your whole routine. Diving into Stratia Skin, go with the OG product that started it all, Lipid Gold ($27).
Auric Cosmetics makes me feel like how I did when I first started loving makeup. The Smoke Reflect Cream + Powder Shadow Duo ($40.25) breathes life into me. The Glow Lust Radiant Luminizer ($46.50) makes me feel like JLo. Samantha created a modern luxury brand to make everyone feel at 110% and that’s exactly what it does. For anyone who loves a little color in their life, Auric Cosmetics is the way to go.
One more skincare brand for the books: Dieux Skin. If you want to feel angelic, look no further. Dieux Skin has a small round-up of skincare products but they know what they’re doing. Treat undereyes with their Auracle Eye Serum and layer on top the Forever Eye Mask before doing NYE makeup for smoothed and hydrated eyes. The Air Angel Gel Cream is a crowd favorite and works perfectly for anyone whose skin needs a little TLC.

Joe Sink Pottery makes beautiful tableware for the home. His pieces are minimalistic with humble earthy flares. You can mix and match what you like or go with full sets of all the same color. If you’d like a place with more color choices, East Fork is another great option.
For all the plant and decor lovers out there, QueenCityCrete is the one for you. Recently for the holidays, she’s released beautiful concrete Christmas tree decorations that I can’t get enough of. Her planters are every concrete, druzy lover’s dream and it’s hard to say no to any of her pieces.
Scandi lovers, rejoice! Batten Home is one of my favorite homeware shops out there. If you love MUUTO, Ferm Living, Kinto and would love to explore more designers, this is the place. Everything is timelessly elegant and shopping with them is seamless.
